A ZEN DOG IS AN INDIVIDUAL

Because every dog has a unique character and personality, there is no 'one-size-fits-all' solution to training!

The process of Zen dog training is broken down into three, very distict and equally important steps;  the first of which, a fact finding telephone consultation, is completely free and without obligation.

1:  FREE TELEPHONE ADVICE

Before you make any decision to go ahead with training, Natalie will need to know more about your dog; its breed, age, history, and any particular behavioural issues that may be giving you cause for concern.

That is why Zen offer a completely free initial telephone consultation, with absolutely no obligation.  Very importantly, this informal chat is also an opportunity for Natalie to get to know you, the owner. . .  to find out what your expectations of training might be, and to make sure that you understand how crucial your role will be in the immediate and long term success of the process (see;  the role of Zen owners)

You should expect this conversation to last around 15 minutes, depending upon the complexity of any issues that you may be experiencing and, of course, how many questions you have!

2:  EVALUATION VISIT

This is the first chargeable element of training and is carried out at a fixed price. . .  with the primary purpose of evaluating the personality, character and needs of your dog in the non-threatening environment of your home.

During the visit, Natalie will diagnose any issues of concern raised during the Consultation and test the efficacy of different communication methods.  It also gives you the opportunity to assess your dog's responsiveness, before committing to a full course of training!

3:  TRAINING PLAN

Within one week of the Evaluation visit (and included within the fee!), Zen will deliver a bespoke training plan that is designed to meet your dog's specific needs and, of course, guide your expectations.

This plan will include an estimate of the number and frequency of training sessions that are likely to be necessary in order to achieve your ideal outcome.

CONTINUAL TRAINING REVIEWS

Please note:  It is often the case that, as your dog becomes more familiar and comfortable with Natalie (and how well you are able to continue the training between sessions of course!), the overall period could well be shortened.

This is why all training is kept under constant review.

OWNER'S TRAINING NOTES (optional)

Your involvement, especially between sessions, is so very important for training reinforcement.

Although she will instruct you fully on the day, for a very small fee Natalie can email you with a set of bespoke training notes after each session. . .  outlining the progress to date and reminding you, as the owner, of the games and exercises you should be practicing with your furry pupil!
